By creating an account, accessing, or using The Stringer, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years of age
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations
• All information you provide is accurate and up-to-date

The Stringer provides:

• Automated monitoring of publicly accessible websites you specify
• Detection and tracking of content changes on monitored websites
• AI-powered summarization of detected changes using OpenAI technology
• Periodic email reports (daily or weekly) containing intelligence briefings
• Historical logs of website changes over time

The Service is designed for competitive intelligence, market research, compliance documentation, and industry monitoring.

To use The Stringer, you must create an account through our authentication provider, Clerk. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Providing accurate and complete registration information

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are inactive for extended periods.

Usage limits are enforced automatically. Attempting to exceed your tier limits will result in errors. We may introduce paid subscription options in the future, with advance notice to users.

You agree NOT to use The Stringer to:

• Monitor private IP addresses, localhost, or internal networks
• Access password-protected or authenticated pages (login-walled content)
• Circumvent rate limits or abuse the test scrape functionality
• Violate any website's terms of service or robots.txt directives
• Monitor websites for illegal, harmful, or malicious purposes
• Engage in activities that could harm, disable, or overburden our infrastructure
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or accounts
• Use the Service to collect personal information without consent
• Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

You are responsible for ensuring your use of The Stringer complies with all applicable laws, including data protection, privacy, and intellectual property laws.

Please be aware of the following service limitations:

• Rate Limiting: Test scrapes are limited to 10 per hour per user.
• Circuit Breaker: Sources that fail 5 consecutive times are automatically paused to prevent resource waste.
• Source Limits: Enforced based on your subscription tier.
• Availability: We strive for high uptime but do not guarantee 100% availability. Scheduled maintenance may occur with advance notice.
• Scraping Success: Not all websites can be successfully scraped due to technical limitations, blocking, or anti-bot measures.

We reserve the right to modify service features, limits, and availability with reasonable notice.

You retain ownership of your source configurations, including the URLs you monitor and custom nicknames you assign.

By using The Stringer, you grant us a license to:

• Access and scrape the public URLs you specify
• Process scraped content through AI systems (OpenAI) to generate summaries
• Store historical scrape logs and summaries
• Send email reports containing your intelligence briefings via Resend

You can delete sources and their associated data at any time through your dashboard. Account deletion removes all your data from our systems.

The Stringer relies on third-party service providers, including:

• Clerk (authentication)
• Bright Data (web scraping infrastructure)
• OpenAI (AI content summarization)
• Resend (email delivery)
• Vercel (hosting and analytics)

Service disruptions, limitations, or changes to these third-party providers may affect The Stringer's functionality. We are not liable for issues caused by third-party service providers.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Stringer shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in scraped content or summaries
• Service interruptions or unavailability
• Actions taken based on intelligence briefings provided by the Service
• Third-party content or websites you choose to monitor

Our total liability to you for all claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (if any).

You may terminate: You can delete your account at any time through the Settings page. All your data will be permanently removed.

We may terminate: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Pose a security risk to the Service or other users
• Have an inactive account for an extended period

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions regarding liability, indemnification, and dispute resolution survive termination.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time.

Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice in the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in accordance with United States law.

Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us at embracys@gmail.com.

• Entire Agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and The Stringer.
• Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them with notice.
